Start with the boring checks

Click the Button is a small Windows Godot build (~300 MB) from LoopCap. Before you assume the save is cursed, verify the Steam install, disable overlays one at a time (Steam, Discord, GPU), and confirm you are on the app you think you are: Demo 4805850 versus full 3946950. A lot of “full game still has Demo bugs” mail is someone launching the wrong shortcut.

There is no listed Steam Cloud. Verifying files will not resurrect a deleted local save. There are no promo codes that repair a crash. Single-player. If the client dies, you lose unsaved minutes, not a ranked season.

Hardware baselines sit on system requirements. If the machine is far below Windows 10 and a 300 MB budget, fix that first. Input comfort and the Demo 1280×720 corner bug are documented on controls. Autoclickers can crash the game

This is the first rule. Players report autoclickers crashing Click the Button. That includes software clickers, hardware turbo buttons, and “accessibility” macros that fire faster than a finger. The game is a one-to-two-hour clicker for most 100% runs. You do not need a bot.

If the process dies during a click storm, remove the clicker, reboot, and play by hand. Do not file a bug that only happens at 40 clicks per second and then omit the tool. LoopCap cannot patch a crash they cannot reproduce. If you used a clicker during gacha (which already pauses the sim) or during a Demo rebirth, say so in the mail. Combined failure modes are how threads go nowhere.

Ghost chests — chests that players say appear or linger wrongly — also show up in community talk. Mention them if they sit next to a crash. Do not treat ghosts as a feature.

Demo rebirth after many chests

Demo players reported crashes when rebirthing after opening a large number of chests. If you are still on 4805850, do not stress-test prestige at the end of a long chest binge. The full release is the build people actually finished. Launch added a merge upgrade that players thanked for stopping those Demo crash patterns. That is a community stability report, not a promise that every crash is gone forever.

If you still crash on 3946950 at a reset or merge moment, write it up as a full-game bug with your version, chest-volume estimate, and whether any clicker was running. Do not rebirth on the only copy of a 90-minute 100% save. Cloud will not reverse it. More context: rebirth and updates.

Fullscreen at 1920×1080, and Attributes.tres

Two display reports travel together. The Demo thread often cites a 1280×720 image stuck in the corner of a fullscreen desktop. A separate discussion cluster talks about fullscreen at 1920×1080 misbehaving (black bars, wrong window box, or a similar cornered render).

Some Steam discussions mention editing a Godot resource named Attributes.tres on the local install as a player-side display workaround: people change window/fullscreen-related attributes so the game fills the monitor. Treat that as a community graphics workaround on your own copy, not as an exploit, not as a save hack, and not as a way to spawn items, skip Born Collector!, or alter gacha. This wiki will not walk file-by-file edits or host a downloadable Attributes.tres. Wrong values can make the game fail to boot. Prefer windowed mode, a resolution change in any official menu, or a patch from LoopCap.

If you already edited Attributes.tres and the game will not start, verify Steam files to restore the depot version, then tell LoopCap you had tried a local display tweak. Do not send the file to other players as a “fix pack.”

Gacha pausing is usually not a crash

The machine pauses the rest of the game while open. Idle ticks stop. Chests stop. It feels like a hang if you alt-tab out and come back to a frozen sim. Close the gacha UI. If the process is actually dead (no window, crash dialog, missing task), that is a crash; include whether the machine was open. If the window is still there and time resumes after close, that is the design complaint, not corruption.

Gacha exists in the full game, not as the Demo’s main toy. Do not troubleshoot missing cuties on 4805850 as a “broken gacha install.”

Merge upgrade thanks, and what to update

Players specifically called out the launch merge upgrade as the change that made Demo-style chest-binge rebirth crashes stop mattering for them. Keep the full game updated through Steam. When LoopCap ships another patch, read updates before you assume a new crash is the old Demo bug wearing a hat.

If merge itself errors (cannot buy, cannot apply, crash on confirm), that is a useful bug. Include whether you were in Demo or full, and whether you had 1,000-count goals in progress. Duplicates matter for Born Collector!; a crash that rolls back stacks is more painful than a cosmetic hitch.

What to put in the email

Write [email protected] with:

• Demo vs full app ID, and DLC 5110650 if the Supporter Pack is installed
• Windows version, monitor resolution (call out 1920×1080 or 1280×720 explicitly)
• Fullscreen or windowed
• Autoclicker / turbo hardware: yes or no
• Rebirth/merge/gacha open at the moment of failure
• Approximate chest count if it was a rebirth crash
• Whether you touched Attributes.tres (yes/no only; do not paste other people’s files)

Stay polite. This is a small Overwhelmingly Positive launch, delayed a handful of days from 21 August to 26 August 2026, not a live-ops desk with a 24/7 SLA. A reproducible paragraph beats a screenshot of a meme.

Work through controls if the issue is input or the Demo corner image. Work through this page if the process dies or the sim only looks dead because gacha is open. Then let LoopCap have the logs they actually need.
